A short walk from the pub, across Newenden's pretty stone bridge, will find you at Bodiam Boating Station where you can book a picturesque river cruise from Newenden to Bodiam Castle. Cruises run daily through the summer months. You can also enjoy exploring the river under your own steam by hiring one of the BBS's rowing boats or kayaks!
The Kent & Sussex Railway gently winds its way from Tenterden through unspoilt Rother valley for 10 mins to Bodiam Castle.
One of the most famous and evocative castles in Britain, Bodiam was built in 1385, as both a defence and a comfortable home.
